Nice

I thought you were lying about the bass until 0:55 , then very nice and heavy. I was surprised that it didn't sound like the typical "wobbly" bass in most dubstep. Fits very nicely though.

TakeTheBait responds:

Haha, thanks man. Not all dubstep has wobble bass, some like this one are all about the sub bass! Appreciate the review, I'm checkin out your stuff right now.

Not Bad Actually

It's actually on par with most of the hardcore I've heard recently. The one thing I didn't like in the song was your choice or kick. It sounds pretty , it just strikes me as non-typical for a hardcore track. But that's probably just personal opinion.

Nice work 9/10, 4/5

Weskuh responds:

Thanks man, appreciate your criticism! There was someone else who complained about the kick too, should probably look into that.

Well done

I'm digging this, and I really love the sliced loop playing throughout. It almost has a vocal quality to it but there's no intelligible words. You've made a better beat in one day than some people can make in a week. Good stuff

8/10, 4/5

Thank you :) Appreciate the review!

Good stuff! I'm lovin the hardcore sound lately. Nice spoken sample too, I haven't heard that one yet.

I'll be honest...

This is without a doubt one of my favorite compositions ever, I've loved this piece of music long before I ever saw the movie. I like what you did here; good synth selection, the percussion is good, and you didn't alter the composition itself (I've some alterations before and most of them just seem to take away the power of the piece).
But...
The crash cymbal is way too loud in the mix (from the 3 minute mark on it's almost boisterous) and sounds like it's panned a just little too hard to the right.
And the ending of the song makes it feel like it just drops off too quickly rather than a gentle fade away (perhaps a repeat of the main melody that fades and retards as the song ends would be a better fit).

I'd give a higher scare but I've heard so many renditions of this piece that I've become very picky about it.

Not bad 7/10, 3/5

Solkrieg responds:

I thought the bell idea was a good idea, guess not.

And the cymbal crash was a lot louder, but I dulled it, I guess I will some more. And what do you mean by "A little too hard to the right"?

Great Soundtrack Material

This sounds perfect for a scene with little action, like one of those semi-"touching" or informative parts of a movie where you learn more about a character or the character is planning their next move. Great material, the only problem is I don't hear much low frequency sound. A low string sound like a cello would work great to bring a more "full" sound to the mix.

Nice work 8/10, 4/5

saintedix responds:

Thanks for the review trey! I actually agree with you on that point. I may go back and add a little more bass to the chords. Thanks for the suggestion.

uhhh...

Well this honestly isn't terrible, but it is not trance... in any way, shape or form. It has a strange jazzy downtempo feel to it that I really kinda like. I like it but it's definitely NOT trance.

Not bad 3/5, 7/10

SimSouleroid responds:

Yeah bad choice of name and genre, wasnt sure when it came time to throw it in ha. thanks for the resonse!

This is a nice loop

I don't usually review loops but I liked this one enought that I caught myself listening to it like five times in a row. Nice and spacey with a somewhat ambient quality about it. Nice stuff

Ben-the-Jew responds:

Well thank you for taking the time to review! Don't you think it'd go well with a space visualizer?

Not enough low freqs...

This is pretty damn good, there's even some nice vocal effects goin on there (is that auto-tune or vocoding?). The other thing is it doesn't feel balanced as in the high frequencies are too loud in the mix. Maybe some extra low to mid-low frequencies and some clever mastering could help it out. Nice job, 8/10

Cassidy-Morgan responds:

Auto Tuneered is the word. It's supposed to sound like auto tune, but it's really gsnap(one real bugger to figure out, someone should REALLY wright a tutorial...)But yes, I'll take your word for it, mondo freq. changes are in the works. Thanks for the constructive feed dude! You rock! XD

The 80s?

I can't explain why but this just sounds so 80s. Love it

GrantProjectXero responds:

Haha, I love the 80's, so maybe it was inspired ;)
